Summary/Synopsis:

Sora has tickets to a movie and is contemplating asking Aoshima out. She carelessly wishes for bigger breasts so that Aoshima will notice her and a nearby mini-demon grants the wish. Aoshima comes by and sees Sora bent over in pain due to her expanding chest. She manages to ask him to go to the movies with her before her bra snaps and her new, large breasts literally knock Aoshima out.

In Niflheim, “Hagal-sama” is pleased with the results of her actions now that demonic contracts are way up. Chibi-Hild rightly predicts what Hagal is thinking. Keiichi asks why demons make contracts with people. Hild explains that the reason is the same as the gods — these contracts are the source of their power as they receive energy from humans in exchange for the wish being granted. Belldandy confirms this, reminding Keiichi the reason Belldandy came to Earth in the first place. Chibi-Hild explains the need for the system to stay in balance between the gods and demons lest there be terrible consequences. As such (and for Urd’s sake), Hild accepted the creation of the Doublet System, even though she didn’t like being bound to a god.

Belldandy feels responsible for the original imbalance since she has stayed on Earth so long. Chibi-Hild agrees that this is partially the reason, but that’s not the issue. Hild’s people apparently never liked Hild agreeing to the Doublet System and so they finally rebelled.

Elsewhere, Tamiya and Otaki have their mini Japanese castle complete with fortification. A man from Nekomi Institute of Technology comes by and tells them that the structure has to go since it is on school property. Tamiya and Otaki refuse, saying it represents their soul. However, a mini-demon grants the man’s wish and the castle collapses.

Keiichi can witness various strange things going on nearby as demons grant wishes as Chibi-Hild bows to ask for Belldandy’s help. Urd smokes in and her foot attack is blocked by Chibi-Hild. Urd warns Belldandy not to listen to Chibi-Hild since Urd suspect a trick. Chibi-Hild understands but takes a knee and asks for help just the same.

Thoughts/Review:

I have to admit that I giggled at Aoshima getting knocked out by Sora’s expanding chest size. I also was highly amused by Tamiya’s and Otaki’s castle. *lol* Good to see those two doing something typical of them. ^_^

I liked the explanation and re-introduction to the Doublet System. I also liked how Urd stormed in there since she feared the worst. It makes sense seeing as how Belldandy can be a little too trusting and Hild in any form cannot be completely trusted. If I had to guess, I’d say Hild is being truthful here; she knows the dangers of there being an imbalance and her goal to restore that balance has ultimately been to have Belldandy, Urd, and Skuld return to “The Heavens.” As a stop-gap measure, she’s allowed Mara to remain on Earth to help balance things and then her chibi split off also assists in that matter. That’s why ultimately Hild played down Belldandy’s role in imbalancing the system because Hild has already countered that for the most part.

Regardless, Fujishima-sensei has a rather interesting and sometimes amusing story arc this time. Its been a while since we’ve had one of those. Here’s hoping the next chapter is just as good or better.
